We are over the moon that Royal Jasmine, the Moonshine of the Garden, with its mesmerizing nighttime activated aroma and moonlight-colored petals is now available as an essential oil.

The succulent and spellbinding sepals of Jasmine flowers have resisted steam distillation until now. An absolute extraction or enfleurage pressing of Jasmine has been anointed and adored for floral, heart note additions to perfumery and colognes for hundreds of years— its aroma is the star of many classic French fragrances. Yet the delicate, dainty flowers defied a distillation that could be used in skin care until our distiller carefully crafted a way to gently coax Jasmine’s essence through slow and low temperature hydrodistillation for the first ever Royal Jasmine Otto.

Jasmine grandiflora is an evergreen climbing and twining vine, and in sultry summer days fragrant white blooms saturate showy shrubs. To make this novel Jasmine juice, forty pounds of delicate petals are hand harvested and gently hydrodistilled to create only an ounce of this lovely, lively liquid that is serene in skin soothing serums and a sensual sensation to bolster any creation.

The best of bathing beauties, Royal Jasmine Otto bedews a glow to skin, and its extra emollience is beloved by dry, wise skin. The flowers’ phyto-chemicals protect the appearance of collagen and elastin from losing its mojo. This Jasmine Otto’s botanical-biotic flower-power is also a good addition to acne serums. Its elevated graceful energy “opens, warms and softens” (Peace Rind, 505) making it a magnificent moon-time and birthing-time massage oil.

In ancient days, Jasmine was named as “God’s Gift” and flowers were strewn about on wedding beds, feast day tables, and in bath water for relaxation and sensual mood elevation. A drop or two of Royal Jasmine Otto dabbed on neat to hair and pulse points, added to a baths, linens, or diffused will inspire the ambience for romance.

“Like the waters of a sweet river, this fragrance penetrates the deepest layers of our soul, opening the doors to our emotions… Jasmine oil does not simply lighten our mood; it brings euphoria to darkness. Jasmine is helpful for recapturing self-confidence and defeating pessimism. Jasmine offers little choice other than optimism… Jasmine envelops people with a mantle of mystery and magic.

~Susanne Fischer-Rizzi, Complete Aromatherapy Handbook

“I do not feel like writing verses; but as I light my perfume burner with myrrh and jasmine incense, they suddenly burgeon from my heart, like flowers in a garden.”

~Hafiz

The raindrop whispered to the jasmine, “Keep me in your heart forever.”
The jasmine sighed, “Alas,” and dropped to the ground."

~Rabindranath Tagore

"Observe
the jasmine lightness
of the moon."

~William Carlos Williams

"The empress of the perfumer's palette, jasmine must be harvested before the rising sun to retain the full force of its delicate fragrance. Fragile and fleeting, jasmine is a fair nymph of a flower with a potent perfume. A world without jasmine? Simply unimaginable."

~Jan Moran, Scent of Triumph

“Topically, Jasmine is a useful emollient for soothing and moistening dry skin conditions; it is also reputedly skin-regenerative… classically described as a floral-sweet, euphoric, sensory integrating aromatic… Possibly the key function of jasmine by olfaction is its disinhibiting and integrating effect on the personality, with the net result of bolstering self-esteem.”

~Peter Holmes, Aromatica
