The Hinoki Cypress is one of the main tree species studied in scientific papers on Japanese forest bathing (shinrin-yoku). By spending time in deep, evergreen forests, forest bathing harnesses the aromatic molecules of trees to harmonize our health. The scent molecules of trees, called phytoncides, are volatile organic compounds that refresh, relax, and slow down our minds and souls so we can calm down and concentrate.
Forest bathe at home by diffusing Hinoki Cypress Essential Oil into the air via diffuser, salt pipe, and steam baths.
The poets would find this is nonsense. It's not just the smell of a cypress, or the sound of the birds, or the color green that unlocks the pathway to health in our brains. We're full sensory beings, or at least we were once built to be. Isn't it possible that it's only when you open all the doors - literally and figuratively - that the real magic happens?"
